It’s the hottest time of the year and summer’s sweltering temperatures will make you want to take a dip in the pool. While you’re there cooling off, consider trying a couple of exercises as well. When mere minutes outside leave you feeling overheated, traditional workouts and cardio may be the last thing on your mind. That’s why we have compiled a list of pool exercises that make it easier to work out in the heat.
Take A Little Walk
To start off, just take a brisk walk around the shallow end of the pool. This will warm you up while giving you some light exercise.
Buy some foam dumbbells at any local pool supply store or online. There are a wide variety of arm workouts you can do with these, from lateral lifts to bicep curls. These run cheap and bring aquafit to your own home.
Browse online and find some wrist and ankle weights. They will add resistance to any exercise you conduct in the pool.
This one is simple, and you need no weights of any sort to do it. Just grab the pool ledge, stick your legs out behind you, and flutterkick in place.
